My dogs, Deiliah and Max
My mom has always been a pet lover, so I’ve grown up with pets constantly. I cannot remember the last time I did not have a pet at home. I’ve had so many pets that it can get hard to recall them all.
My most beloved pets are my dogs, Deiliah and Max. They were around during most of my high school memories and even my early middle school days.

Deiliah was a long-haired border collie who had such an attitude. She was a selective listener who only listened when it would benefit her. She kept my family grounded and snuck into so many family pictures, posing along with my sibling and me. She passed in spring 2025. I remember exactly where I was. I was in my design class texting my mom the whole time she brought Delilah to the vet. Every day after she died, I wished I had left class early and met her at the vet. She was the sassiest dog I’ve ever met, and watching her get sick and slow was so hard. And I wish I could have been with her when she passed. She will always be my favorite dog, at least till Max passes.
I named Deiliah when we first got her, so even her name means so much to me. Funny enough, her name was a biblical name to match my biblical name. Even with her name, she was so loyal and sweet; I miss her every day. When she first passed, even seeing another dog made me cry.
This is my dog, Max. He is the scariest dog I’ve ever met, but I wouldn’t trade him for the world. He is so funny and jumpy. And he’s such a dork without even trying. With Deiliah already gone, it’s hard to cope that my other dog is getting old, but I love his goofy, dorky self, and I will love him till the day he dies, just like Deiliah. Looking at the picture of the two of us, it is crazy that neither of us has aged a bit. Just put on a few pounds.

I have more pets than just my two beloved dogs, but they are my favorite. I also have 3 cats named Milo, Oliver, and Jake. And I love them just as much, even when they wake me up at 8 am sharp every day to feed and change their water.
